Love Interferes In the worst Way

IMG_0062The theme love interferes in the worst ways shows itself many times throughout Knox’s journey in Dead Poets Society. One example is during a pop quiz in Mr. Keating’s class where a slideshow of women is shown. All of the students could not concentrate and it ultimately hurt their grades.”On his paper Knox had written ‘Chris, Chris, Chris’ over and over again as he stared numbly at the screen”.(Kleinbaum, 115). Another example of love coming in with Knox is when Knox leaves school to read poetry to Chris. He has to skip time at school to follow his heart. An example of love hurting is when Charlie felt obligated to invite Gina and Tina to the cave. This was overall a bad idea because this gave him bad ideas for the future and told him it was okay to act out, which later on eventually drastically hurt him. The most seen act of love, whether smart or not, was a scene involving mostly Knox and Chris. Knox tries to have Chirs’s heart be felt by his hand. By doing so, love and lust ultimately almost ruins his future with Chris.
